We are raising money for the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and this is our story..
In August 2017 I was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer, following that diagnosis was a roller coaster of surgeries, hospital appointments , emergency room dashes and multiple hospital stays from the emergency dashes. To say this journey has been traumatic would be an understatement, but thanks to the amazing surgeons, doctor and nurses at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse , I am here, alive, cancer free and starting to live life again with my gorgeous daughter. The staff at this not for profit cancer hospital are amazing, the services and support they provide to all of the patients is valuable beyond words.
My daughter Ava aged 8 wanted to raise some money for the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse to say thankyou to them for quite literally saving her mummy’s life. So Ava and I, along with our fabulous friends are taking part in 2 events, the Sydney Colour Run on the 7th October and the Miss Muddy Hunter on the 20th October, to raise funds to help the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse continue to help other people and to make their cancer journey’s a little bit easier.
We never know how long we will be on this earth for and sadly not everyone gets the end result from our cancer journey that we hope for. The fact I have been so very lucky to be given a second chance, I will be forever grateful to the hospital that has saved my life, for them enabling me to be here for my daughter and watch her grow, have adventures together and for me just to be there for her.
So time to splash some cash, any dollar, cents, pounds, pennies and euros, you can spare no matter how large or small will be so gratefully received, all currencies accepted on this just giving page 😉
