The Stroke Association - Spookslide · 29 October 2011 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing this zip wire (despite my fear of heights) in memory of my Gran, she had a stroke in her 30s and lived until she was 76. While she was paralysed down her left side she lived a full and happy life and I would like to raise money to support other stroke sufferers to do the same.

I was inspired very recently when a fundraiser for The Stroke Association visited a business meeting that I was attending and gave a very passionate presentation about the support that is needed in terms of the lack of funding that the charity receives. As the third biggest killer in the UK behind cancer and heart disease, funding to support research and those who have had a stroke is  very low in comparison.

I would really appreciate your financial support (any amount will help) to raise just a little money to help the vast number of stroke sufferers.
