I'm taking on the Race to the Base to help raise life-saving funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Their doctor-led critical care team delivers life-saving treatments at the scene of an incident, whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. Last year, the charity responded to 1,732 incidents, with each call-out costing £4,478 on average.
