Story
On Sunday 8th March 2020 I will be running my first ever Half Marathon as part of the Halstead staff team.
This is my very first attempt ever at long distance running. My motivations are: to challenge myself before I reach my fifth decade and to show you are never too old to learn a new skill. Most importantly I am doing this in memory of my Godmother June who we lost last August to cancer. She was a great supporter of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
I managed my first 5k (3.1 miles) at a local park run in October. I progressed to 5 miles in January and finally reached 10 miles today (21st February). My main goal is to just reach the finish line on 8th March but if I can finish in 3 hours then I will be delighted. Anything else is a bonus.
Please support me if you can, your wishes will be a great motivator on the day.
