Abingdon Marathon, 23 October 2022
We support young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need

Story

I will be running the Abingdon marathon on October 23rd in aid of Papyrus- a suicide prevention charity that focus especially on working with young people. It is an absolutely incredible organisation but I truly hate the fact that this charity is so close to my heart.

I will be running for my lifelong friend, and University comedy partner, Lucy. In memory of her son Daniel, who took his own life on August 18th last year at the age of 17.

The older I get, the harder long distance running seems to get but Luce, her husband Angus, and Zeb, Ben and Matilda, Dan’s siblings will be on my mind for every step of the 26.2 miles.

Abingdon will be my 23rd Marathon, I have promised Brooksy I will stop at 25!

I have fundraised before for several charities and I totally understand that people might not be able to donate this time around. Even so I still want to encourage you to check out the amazing work that Papyrus does and to use this as a reminder to check in on all your loved ones.

Lots of love,

Tracy X
