In November 2009 my Mum and best friend lost her battle with bowel cancer. Mum was an inspiration and fought her cancer right up until the end. She was a wonderful wife, mother and nan and loved us all dearly. We all miss her so much and not a day goes by when I do not think about her.

I myself have had a close encounter with cancer in 2007 I was given an emergency hysterectomy following the detection of abnormal cells in my womb. These cells turned out to be cancerous; early diagnosis and action helped me I am one of the lucky ones.
