Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On Sunday 26th April we will be walking, running, cycling, keepy-uppying, baking, hula hooping and belly dancing to make sure we're still here for carers.

The Coronavirus pandemic is causing a lot of us to feel worried about one or more of the things that unpaid carers face daily; dealing with isolation, not being able to do things we enjoy, juggling work and family (more than usual) or even having to leave work, with all the financial implications that brings. For many of us, these worries are temporary and we hope that normal life will resume in the not too distant future. For many carers, this is normal life.

With care agencies and social workers having to limit their contact, with support groups and activities cancelled and with holidays postponed, carers are finding it even harder to take a break from their caring role. For those who don't live with the person they are caring for, they may be unable to visit the person that relies on them. Routines are disrupted, lives turned upside down and with support services already stretched, carers need somewhere to turn.

While we have replaced face to face appointments with phone and video calls to help control the spread of the virus, we are still here to make sure carers get the support they deserve. The helpline is still open. Expert staff are still on the end of the phone for emotional support, benefits advice and health reviews. Counsellors still lend a listening ear.

Any donations you can spare would be appreciated. Just £12 could pay for a phone call, a vital lifeline for a carer in crisis.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
