Story

Here we Mo again!

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

It’s that time of year again to dig deep and grow long. Same great cause same great crew (almost).

From Birmingham Trailfinders we have Justin Wincup, Adrian Farmer, Phil Jackson, Iain Bartholomew, James Balfour, Andy Templeton, John Mullett, Chris Udall, Zach Smith and myself.

For those of you not already aware my youngest son James who will be 4 in February has cerebral palsy. He was born 10 weeks early and suffered a bleed to his brain. The damage to his brain inhibits the messages for movement. All four of his limbs are affected but mostly his legs which means he finds sitting difficult and cannot stand or walk.

We are fundraising to help pay towards SDR surgery, his physiotherapy  and targeted training. .

James had an assessment in February at Alder Hey Children’s hospital where it was confirmed he would be an eligible candidate for surgery. However, unfortunately due to the severity of his disability the NHS are unable to fund it. The cost of the surgery is £16000 and the physiotherapy aftercare a further £10000.

The aim of the surgery is to release the tightness in his legs, followed by intense physio to build the strength in his muscles.

We hope the end result will enable James to eventually sit, stand then walk. This may only be possible with the help of equipment but will give him the independence most of us take for granted.

He’s a determined little boy with a loveable personality and deserves the best chance possible.

Let’s have some fun and raise some money for a special cause.

Thanks again
