HPS Trust works seamlessly with teachers at Holland Park School, financing educational and outward bound projects for which there is no public money and which are aimed at raising the aspirations and ambitions of students, giving them the confidence and motivation to succeed and fulfill their potential.

Story

On Saturday 17th September 2017 a walk took place from the Amsterdam pub in Shoreham to Amberley in memory of Jon "Trapper" Maile. It was a great day and possibly a slightly more challenging and longer walk than had been anticipated!

This year The Trapper Walk Two is planned for Saturday 30th September 2018. Starting at Mile Oak Farm just off the A27 near Portslade it will join with walkers wanting a later start or shorter route at Devil's Dyke and then continue to Trapper's parent's house in Steyning for "refreshments"!

The walk will take a route that is achievable to anyone with even the most basic level of fitness. It is open to all - kids and families most definitely welcome. As well as being a way of bringing together some good friends and great memories the walk will be used to raise funds to send at least one and possibly more kids on an adventurous trip which they would never usually be able to afford or achieve. Last year "The Trapper Walk” raised an amazing £3500. We have kept the fundraising page open for this year. It is obviously always more difficult to raise funds on a repeat event but any donations will of course be hugely appreciated - this will be the final Trapper Walk so it would be a wonderful gesture if we could end this one with a healthy final sum.

Trapper, like many of us, was very lucky to have had some amazing opportunities in his life. It seems fitting to use his memory to give a similar opportunity someone less fortunate. His love of travel was a huge part of him and was something for which his drive and motivation never wained.

Choosing a charity to support is never easy as there are so many good causes out there. A group of Trapper's friends, with the approval of his family, decided to support the HPS Trust which in turn will be supporting an adventure trip giving a small group of kids an opportunity of a lifetime. This will be lead by a childhood friend of Trapper's so we know for sure that the money will be well spent.
