Story
Every day, 12 children in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. On Christmas Eve 2018 I became one of those children when I was diagnosed with a type of cancer called Hodgkins Lymphoma. Thankfully, it was caught at an early stage and was successfully treated after 4 months of chemotherapy. I was given the all clear in May 2019.
During this time I received amazing support from CLIC Sargent, which is a brilliant charity that supports children with cancer. They provided my family with a place for us to stay close to the hospital when I had to visit Bristol for diagnosis and treatment. They also provide lots of other support as well including a social worker, specialist nurses, financial help and much more.
This summer holiday therefore, rather then just play Fortnite, I am going to walk 157 miles to raise money for CLIC Sargent so they can support more children like me. Why 157 miles? Well that is the distance between my home and CLIC House where we stayed when I was being treated in Bristol so it seemed like a good target. It is also the equivalent of a marathon a week.
I was aiming to raise £2,500 but have hit that target already thanks to so much amazing support, so I would love to be able to raise even more!
Thanks for supporting me.
