Story
Hi, I’m Donna, and this year I’m taking on Trek 26 to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society, in loving memory of my incredible mum, Barbara, who we sadly lost in 2023.
She meant the absolute world to me, and losing her has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to face. Mum was always there when I needed her, whether it was for advice, encouragement, or simply a comforting shoulder to lean on.
She was fun, caring, and full of warmth, with a gift for storytelling that could light up a room. I’ll always treasure the way she brought stories like The Battle of Hastings or The Lion and Albert by Marriott Edgar to life, told with her unmistakable humour and sparkle. She had a way of making people smile that you never forgot.
I think about her every single day and carry her with me in everything I do. She is deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
This Trek 26 will take me through the stunning Lake District, across woodland trails and lakeside views, before the climb towards Helvellyn. I’ll be covering 13 miles and ascending up to 1,000 feet, every step taken in her memory and in support of everyone affected by this devastating disease.
Thank you so much for your support. It truly means more than I can put into words 💜
