Since being diagnosed 3 years ago, my Dad, Peter Ahmed, who is only 62 years of age, has suffered with Alzheimer’s and recently admitted to hospital for 24 hour care with the disease. I can see how much this illness has affected Dad and all of us around him as a family. It is truly heartbreaking! 

It is an awful time watching the illness progress with Dad, feeling helpless to try and make it stop in any way possible but this is why this illness is so horrible. I want to help raise as much money as possible to help with research on this awful illness, and fingers crossed, find a cure someday. 

It is no secret my Dad was a well respected boxer in his day, winning the Welsh Light-Welterweight title 5 years in a row 1977-1981, making it a post war record and is still held to this day. Im hoping to channel some of this motivation for my event!

I will be trekking 26 miles through the Brecon Beacons in July 2021, which i know will be a gruelling task but well worth it if i manage to hit my £300 target needed to enter this event.
