Trek26 Brecon Beacons 2025 - 26 miles · 14 June 2025 ·

Journey through a spectacular area of wild moorland and sweeping mountain slopes in the Brecon Beacons. Trek for loved ones, and raise money so together we can provide help and hope to people affected by dementia.

Story

Almost 7 years ago, we lost our mum Joan Wilson. She bravely battled Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s for a number of years. During her lifetime she cared for numerous people as a nurse and she always put others before herself. She was just a wonderful person. These cruel diseases robbed her of her joyous personality and robbed her family and friends of her warmth, care and affection. It was a truly awful end to a fantastic life, no one should have to endure these things. So to commemorate and celebrate her life and ideals, my little sister and I are raising much needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society by taking part in the Brecon Beacons Marathon Walk on 14th June 2025. It’s billed as a very tough trek but we are determined to complete the marathon with mum in our hearts and knowing it’s for a great cause, that seems to affect almost every family in one way or another.

It would be great if you could donate to this great cause and help us to provide much needed funds to aid research and a cure to this devastating disease. Any amount would be greatly appreciated and your support will provide added motivation for us whilst on the trek. Thanks in anticipation Rob Wilson & Gay Sutton x👍💪🏃🏔️

Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.

Thank you for choosing to trek for Alzheimer's Society, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
