Story
Hello everyone! This year I am gearing up (along with a bunch of other slightly mad people) to trek 26 miles cross-country in the Lake District to raise some dosh for the Alzheimer's Society. On 8th August we will be lacing up our walking boots to cross the start line for this ambitious challenge, and we would be very grateful for your support!
Alzheimer's is a disease which affects so many of our lives. Last year my Nan was diagnosed with dementia, and the effect that it has had on her life, and how we operate as a family has felt at times almost insurmountable. Yet in many ways, we are lucky to have such a strong network around us and to have friends and relatives who understand and support us.
Lots of other families are not so fortunate so I would like to take this challenge and try to raise money to help the Alzheimer's Society to forge ahead with research and to continue to help individuals and families affected by dementia.
Research and development in medical science has developed the understanding of Alzheimer's and dementia to the point where now, scientists are starting to believe that we are on a path to finding a cure. I would like to help contribute to the on-going research and to help provide the support so desperately needed by people with Alzheimer's and their families. I know, personally, what a vital cause this is.
If you can spare a couple of pennies to sponsor us, it would go a long way! Thank you all! <3 xxx
