Story

In July, I’ll be taking on the biggest challenge of my life — hiking a full marathon through the Lake District, including three scramble climbs. It will be the longest and toughest hike I’ve ever done, but the reason behind it is far greater than the challenge itself.

Two years ago, my stepdad Chris was diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia. Since then, we’ve had to watch someone we love slowly lose his mobility, his independence, and so much of the life he once knew. It’s heartbreaking in ways that are hard to put into words. Every day brings new challenges, and together, my mam and I have been caring for him, doing everything we can to support him through this.

This hike is for him. For the memories we hold onto, and for the moments that dementia tries to take away. It’s for every family going through the same pain, and for the hope that one day, things can be different.

I’m aiming to raise £300, and every single donation will mean more than you know — not just to me, but to families like mine who are facing this every day.

If you’re able to donate or even just share this, I would be so grateful. Thank you for helping me turn something so difficult into something that can make a difference 💛
