Story

Why Walk?

I love walking, especially with friends. Walking has kept me sane through lockdown. Lockdown has even given me some new walking friends! A few years ago I did a long distance walk (160 km over 4 days). Time for another one - albeit just 1 day - and this time for a good cause: dementia.

Why Dementia?

Luckily I don't know anyone close to me with dementia. But I do know that at some point dementia will hit you or me. Either you or me personally, or someone really close to us.

Watching your mum, dad, partner or close family friend drift into their own world, getting increasingly confused and frustrated is very difficult.

What You Can Do

Imagine if we could do something about this? Will you help?

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
