Story

Myself and Eleanor are going to walk a full marathon next May to raise money for Alzheimer’s.

We feel that this will be close to a lot of people’s hearts, with so many people being affected by this, most will be dealing with, have lost a loved one or are taking care of someone with Dementia.

There are around 55 million people in the world living with Dementia, around 900,000 of these are in the UK. This is projected to rise to 1.6 million in just 17 years. Sadly that’s one person every 3 minutes that is developing Dementia.

Dementia is a group of symptoms. It’s caused by different diseases that damage the brain. The symptoms get worse over time and include:

  • memory loss
  • confusion and needing help with daily tasks
  • problems with language and understanding
  • changes in behaviour.
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.

Any donation to this would be very much appreciated. Just £1 could help with the research to improve diagnosis, develop new treatments and improve care and support.

Thank you 😊🩷
