Story
Dementia doesn’t just affect memories — it changes the lives of entire families.
Alzheimer’s Society is a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart, so I’ll always take any opportunity to support the work they do.
For years, it was clear that our grandma was struggling with her memory. But as many families know, dementia doesn’t always reveal itself clearly at first. The journey to understanding what’s really happening can be long and painful — especially when pride, independence, and self-esteem are at stake.
Dementia is a heartbreaking disease. It slowly steals memories, moments, and pieces of the people we love, until entire decades of a life can fade away.
So many families and individuals are living with the reality of dementia and Alzheimer’s with little or no support. Many more could benefit from earlier discovery and diagnosis, giving them the chance to access help sooner and plan for the future.
That’s why the work of Alzheimer’s Society is so vital. They are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives — providing support to people living with dementia today, while campaigning to make dementia the priority it deserves and funding groundbreaking research to change the future.
Taking on this trek is my way of doing something positive in the face of such a difficult disease, and every bit of support truly means the world.
Please donate if you can — because every step we take and every pound raised brings us closer to a cure.
