Story

I'm undertaking this challenge to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. My father in law John Wood, like many other people I know or have known, was diagnosed with Vascular dementia several years ago. John had been an active guy most of his life and was a superb cricketer and hockey player. He was always the sole of the party (pretty impressive for somebody who hardly ever has a drink). Whilst he retains his good sense of humour (most of the time), unfortunately as the illness has progressed his short term memory particularly has been severely impacted which has had a dramatic effect on those close to him. For all the individuals that Alzheimer's and Dementia affects, there are many others who suffer the impact and consequences of the diagnosis.

I would be very grateful for any donations, which will directly fund and support research into the possibility of prevention, and hopefully one day, cure for Dementia and Alzheimer's. Thank you so much.

A note from the Alzheimer's Society

Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
