Whilst I have my own personal and emotional reasons to raise funds for such a brilliant charity, we are taking on this epic challenge as a group of friends in support of Emma and her sister, Julie.

They have been through the toughest few years following their fathers diagnosis of early onset dementia.

John is a legend in our town and it's been really tough for everyone to watch the man we know fade away and we have felt helpless watching our friends suffer as they continue to care and support him.

We are trekking 26 miles on the 8th June to raise funds and awareness for an amazing charity which supports not only those suffering with the disease but their families and friends too.

I will also personally be motivated by my Grandad, Ron, who was recently awarded the title Dimentia Champion for the difference he makes to those he lives with at Stafford Hall - Runwood Homes, taking time out of his day to check in on all the residents and be a listening ear. I’m so proud of him.
