My sister-in-law has Alzheimer's and has been in a home for the last two years as she can no longer live independently. Additionally, we know four families in our own village who are battling with the disease. So, I have decided to take part in this challenge and raise funds to support the Alzheimer's Society.

Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.

I am updating this page a week after completing the walk. It was a glorious, sunny day but with a wind to keep us cool. There were 5 of us in our group of local people and it was great to walk with them in this important fundraiser.

Our group has raised over £2,500 between us, and people supporting me personally have contributed £550 (plus Gift Aid). That is a fantastic response, and thank you so much! The response has been really encouraging.
