Dear Friends,

Everest Base Camp trek – well, it’s finally done.  What can I say…. for a start, it was hard, very hard.  There were endless (15 days of it) walks of up and down,  up and down, and up and down......, lots of freezing ( below -10 degrees) nights in a tent, sudden attacks of headache / tiredness / loss of appetite / nausea / shortness of breathe due to the altitude, and a hole in the ground for toilet. 

On the bright side however, there were the most stunning views of the Himalayan mountains, the meeting of new friends (we had a wonderful group of 15), the sense of achievement having completed the trek, and most of all, the immense support received from family and friends. 

But would I do something like this again?  The answer is NO, I think I’ll stick to sun and beach holidays from now on.   Anyways, thank you all for the support and donations given, we've managed to raise more than £1,700 with some cash still to be counted from collection cans.   All the money will go towards the Leukaemia and Cancer Fund of the Royal Sick Kids.  Thanks again.

I have posted some photos, out of the 1000 that were taken, on the web so you can share the fun.   One of the most exciting sceneries I got to see was an avalanche happening right in front of me (well actually a few Kilometres away)
