Snowdon Way - 122 Miles, 14 Mountain Peaks · 11 April 2022

Communication Workers Union Humanitarian Aid (CWUHA) is a charitable organisation which was set up by trade unionists in response to the plight of vulnerable children. We operate mainly in Eastern Europe, Africa, Republic of Ireland and the UK.

Story

We will be participating in a 10 day, 122 mile trek across 14 mountain peaks on a cross country trail from Machynlleth on the mid west Welsh coast to Conwy on the north coast of Wales in order to raise money for disabled and disadvantaged children in Moldova.

Moldova is the poorest country in Europe and has suffered badly economically during the pandemic and it’s the most vulnerable who bear most of the brunt.

Your donations will directly contribute to the purchasing of:

  • Provisions (food, cooking utensils etc)
  • Children’s clothing
  • Physio and medical equipment
  • Hydrotherapy equipment
  • Toys and games
  • Stationary and books
  • Tools and maintenance equipment

The best part is, you will be able to see the direct contribution your donations make by following the CWUHA or our social media as one of us will be delivering the supplies in person in either May or September of 2022.

We will be completely unguided and unaided during the trek. We will also be required to wild camp along the 122 mile trek which will take place towards the end of winter, making the weather conditions far from ideal. Lack of food and sleep will also be a big factor in the difficulty of this fundraiser.

An image of the trek has been added to the gallery for reference (the BLUE route).

Parcel Force Worldwide has also very kindly agreed to match donations up to a total of £200.
