Story

Hi, welcome to my fundraising page. I’m Jonathan Kattenberg, Principal of LWC Wealth management and Life Wealth Coaching, and I’m fundraising for the St James’s Place Foundation who are an amazing charitable foundation that will match donations made.(please note there are some limits applied!)

St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation aim to make a significant difference to the lives of children and young people. Providing grants to charities working for the direct benefit of economically disadvantaged or socially marginalised young people, the physically disabled, or those suffering from a mental condition or life-threatening or degenerative illness.

So, in January 2018, I will walk totally unsupported the whole Yukon Quest 1,000 dog sled route from Fairbanks Alaska to Whitehorse in the Yukon whilst pulling a pulk/sled which will weigh approximately 40 kilos. Normally this route is done each year by the amazing dog sled racers who are fully conditioned to the harsh conditions of the winter elements of Alaska and the Yukon.

Yes, the conditions are so harsh, the temperatures often plummit well below minus 35 to minus 50 degrees centigrade, which is pretty extreme to say the least. Only a handful of people have ever completed this route on foot...

Why, you may ask would I wish to embark on such a challenge? The majority of people say to me “Jonathan, it’s really dangerous!” I often reply, “Well, I view not living nor trying in life more dangerous. I’m more scared of not trying to achieve, than actually not succeeding at anything”

When supporting clients with their life planning skills and financial matters, often people draw their life map in a straight line and may have clear intention and determination to achieve the life they desire as per diagram below.

Unfortunately for some, through potentially no fault of their own, but merely from how they have become conditioned over time, when a person or company hits an obstacle/brick wall on their road map to success, they’ve become so internally programmed of the initial route they must take, they find it difficult to alter the route, consider a different direction or learn how to knock down any obstacle in their way. Naturally in the most ethical and moral way of course!

This can cause a very stressful state of mind leading to potentially more severe health concerns.

I’m hoping that my trek will achieve a number of things;
1/ Encourage people to donate to the St James’s Place Foundation who also supoprt MQ Mental Health and many other worthy charities.

2/ Inspire people to go out and achieve the life they desire through my demonstration of determination , grit and hard work, showing anything is possible.

3/ Bring a community of people together who also wish to inspire other people to enjoy life to the very best of their ability, by demonstrating how in essence, when taking on any challenge in life, its like ensuring you have an A-Z road map of your journey of life, but with the hidden advantage that people can take on the curve balls of life to pursue the life they desire.

Thank you for visiting my page

Warmest wishes
