CLAPA is a support organisation for all those affected by cleft lip and/or palate. One in 700 children are born with this condition. We provide information, advice, and support through our online events led by staff members and volunteers. Facebook groups, and peer and parent support services.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

Amy was born in September 2003 with a cleft lip and palate, see inset pictures taken at 3 months just prior to her operation and at 3 years.

Amy has now been through two successful operations and CLAPA has been a tremendous support throughout the difficult and worrying times by providing support and information on all aspects of clefts from feeding to knowing that there are other families going through the same experiences.

Therefore Al, Uncle Jon, Jon and myself would like to give something back to CLAPA so that they can continue to help other families who have a cleft lip and/or palate.

We will be trekking along the Great Wall of China around Beijing for 6-7 hours a day for a week and aim to raise a lot of money for CLAPA!  Additionally, Uncle Jon who is a serving member of the Corps of Royal Engineers will be putting us all to shame by carrying an additional 35lbs of weight on the trek; the minimum weight a soilder has to carry in his bergan!

Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cleft Lip And Palate Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

Al, Jon, Jon and Stephen
