We are active members of the Trent District Community First Responders, volunteers working in partnership with East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) and despatched by ambulance controllers to respond to 999 emergencies in our local communities.

While CFR's are trained by EMAS, we have to establish ourselves as a charitable body to raise funds for equipment, ranging from a pulse and oxygen meter at £20 through to an automated external defibrillator at over £1,000.

In a cardiac arrest situation, the chance of survival without effective defibrillation reduces by 10% per minute - this is the equipment that can make a life-saving difference when minutes really do count.
