Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Those who know me well enough will be very surprised to learn of my intentions to complete a half marathon.  Lots of lifestyle changes will need to be made if I am to succeed including the removal or reduction of a number of vices!  That all said I am incredibly determined to cross that line and training (yes really) began in the Summer of 2018.  I needed a focus to help me work towards this goal and in choosing Macmillan I now have the added spur of raising money towards this charity which has touched so many of our lives.  Having lost my Mother to Cancer whilst in her Mid Fifties I am determined to give something back in order to help other individuals or families suffering.  By donating to this worthwhile cause you will ultimately help me help them & give me the much needed energy boost to get me through those 13 miles, thanks in advance - Trev x  (Added Nov 2018)

Update 25th Jan 2019

Winter training is tough but rewarding, I've now reached the half way mark and surpassed 6.5 mile runs, that's one hurdle overcome. Next step is to break 10 miles over the coming weeks.  Times are improving as is the ability to breathe easier!  Weight is also slowly coming down making the strain on the legs a little less.  Still struggling with the vices but God loves a tryer right??  Thanks to all whom have donated to date and please if you could spare any amount it would be very gratefully received - Trev x

Update 19th March 2019

Training runs now complete, since the last update I have covered 100 miles and times have recently dropped to sub 8 minute miles which will hopefully give me a significant buffer when trying to break the 2 hour barrier come Sunday.  Late drama consisting of a very tender left knee post my 10 mile run a couple of weeks back will not prevent me starting and finishing the 13.1 miles & all the donations to date will inspire me across the line I'm sure.  On that note I would like to thank each and every person/company who have taken the time to donate to this wonderful cause, I have been completely overwhelmed by your wonderful support, every penny really does count.

Finally a short message to my dear Mum whom sadly passed almost ten years ago as a result of a long battle with Cancer.  I miss you and love you with all my heart and will be thinking of you every step of the way on Sunday, I'm sure you will be there in spirit & hopefully help steer me across that finish line - Trev x
