NICE is a leading UK charity transforming the lives of disabled children and adults who have movement disorders such as cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s. We push the boundaries of their potential by teaching them through conductive education, new ways of controlling the effect of their condition.

Story

My name is Libby and a few months after I was  born I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This means that I have difficulty in standing and walking due to various brain signals not getting through to my muscles properly. Due to this I find it very difficult to get around. Even simple things like sitting up straight on my own are hard. This was untill I started to attend an institute called NICE (National institute for conductive education). NICE is a charity run institute for people like me who have various neurological disorders. Thanks to the amazing people at NIce who have worked with me I am now able to stand and walk around ( with some help from various prices of equipment). I can now interact more with the children in my class at my mainstream school and play time is much more fun and easier for me. The progress I have made since going there has been awesome and I love going there every week.
