Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

This event has been organised within the company I work for HP Information Security. A very large group of us have decided to eshew computers for the day and have a power walk up to the top of Snowdon. Well, that's great for us, but we have all agreed to raise money for a small number of charities, and our company, HP, will double whatever we raise! The charity that my 'team' is supporting is Sefton Children’s Trust.  The purpose of this charity is to provide support for the children and families in the borough of Sefton, Liverpool by means of holidays/residential experiences for the kids, Christmas hampers, gifts and parties for them and their families.

Every year they take around 90 of these kids away for a week long residential experience, this is usually at Manor Adventure in Shropshire.  They are aged between 8 and 12 years old and are: young carers, have experienced bereavement, are living in families where there is serious or terminal illness and some of whom are sadly, abused or in care.

Last year one of my colleagues volunteered with this charity for a week on the residential trip and spending this week with them made her realise just how lucky most of us are and really opened her eyes to the day to day challenges many kids sadly have. Which is why we agreed to support this charity.

It costs them around £35k each year for this residential trip and they rely on fundraising and donations but they are struggling this year to raise sufficient funds.  We are certain that every single penny will make a massive difference to them.

So please dig deep and donate thru justgiving now.

Trevor.
