In Kenya & Ethiopia we respond to the poorest people, running projects including clinics, urban development projects, feeding programme for children, women’s development programmes, schools, work with young people with learning disability, after-school programmes, sports development for young people.

Story

This year the money we raise will go to the Bulbula Mission.  The aim is to use the river to irrigate an area of land so that local people can lease it form the authorities and set up their own farms.   This would be a massive step in a country at the heart of the famine basin in Africa.

In order to teach the agricultural skills necessary, the sisters wish to expand the small school that they have already built.   The are desperate for money to buy basics like, desks and chairs, books and pencils and, ultimately, they would love to buy resources to teach Science.

The sisters have noticed that this area has a high percentage of children who have physical disabilities.  These have huge cultural as well as practical implications.  They would like to use a proportion of the money we raise to have some of them treated in Addis Ababa about 180km away.
