Story

Monmouth School for Girls will be holding a triathlon on Friday 5 July 2019, the last day of the Summer term, in memory of Tom Walker.

All students from Monmouth School for Girls and Monmouth School Girls’ Prep will be taking part, either cycling, swimming, running or walking, or they may be ‘officials’.

Tom, a student at Monmouth School for Boys, died from acute myeloid leukaemia in June 2018. Since his death the Haberdashers' Monmouth Schools' community and his family and friends have been raising money for a fund in his name at Cancer Research Wales that will be used to fund research into acute myeloid leukaemia. To date over £100,000 has been raised, which will enable Cancer Research Wales to fund a three year research programme starting in September 2020.
