Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.

We are raising money for two charities, bibic and Headway, in memory of Dan, my husband, dad to Jess, Josie & Charlie and friend to so many people.

Last July Dan was away in Spain, on adventurous training with the Navy. He was involved in a motorbike accident, and sustained a head injury, as a result of this he vary sadly died.

Dan was an absolutely amazing character, he would light up any room he walked into with his huge beaming smile. He had a huge presence, once you met him, you never forgot him. He was strong and determined in both body and mind and had a quick wit which would make you laugh so much your stomach would hurt. He was an amazing husband and father, and would do anything for his family.

We miss him hugely and our lives have changed beyond belief, in the midst of grief, we thought taking on a challenge in his memory was just the right thing to do. Dan was so passionate about fitness and helping other people reach their goals. He was training for his ultimate challenge, an Ironman. So a triathlon seemed the right challenge for us, this is a massive challenge for me and many others joining in. My fitness levels aren't great and I last ran a very long time ago. However I know Dan would be so proud of everyone of us taking part which will get us through it.

We are Doing it for Dan.

The Challenge

Langport Sprint Triathlon will take place on 24th September 2023 in Langport, Somerset. Jess, myself and lots of Dans friends will complete 400m swim, 22.5km bike and 5k run. All this seems quite scary, well especially for me, so the more the merrier. Feel free to sign up too or come and support us on the day.

The Charities

We are raising money for two charities close to our families hearts.

bibic

bibic is a national charity based in Somerset which supports children and young people with neurological disabilities and difficulties to reach their potential. Dan's daughter has cerebral palsy and has been supported by bibic for several years. bibic has worked tirelessly, providing her and the family continuous support and holistic treatments which have helped her to get the best out of life.

All children with disabilities have the right to thrive, not simply survive. Donations to bibic help to provide life changing support to vulnerable children and young people who need it the most. Donate and support the amazing work that helps to support Dans daughter and any other child who needs it.

Headway

Headway UK gives help and support to survivors of brain injuries and their loved ones. Unfortunately, as Dans brain injury was fatal, he was unable to receive Headways support; however through what has happened to Dan, we have been given an insight into the amazing work this charity does and we would like to fundraise for them to support the unbelievable work that they are doing. Donate and support the work of this amazing charity that

supports survivors of brain injury, their family and their friends to improve life after brain injury.

Thank you for your support.

We are doing it for Dan.
