Story

#DotheDistanceAnyway for Super Leon!

Super Leon’s Trike Trial Team #TeamSuperLeon

This September and October, Team Super Leon (the Thompson/Thomson branch) are undergoing sporty challenges to raise money for Leon’s new trike and wheelchair parts!

With fundraising options still somewhat limited due to the pandemic, plus so many charities and organisations in need of support this year, we completely understand if you cannot read any further...but if you can then please share our progress and help support us the best you can x

Running and challenge events are a big part of fundraising and even though most of these events have been cancelled, the beauty is that these can still be completed and organised on an individual or small group basis.

Leon is 7 years old and lives with Cerebral Palsy, Global Developmental Delay, sensory processing issues as well as being non-verbal. He is in need of a trike for his therapy and some further supports for his wheelchair to allow him some independence.

You can see his trike assessment video here on Leon’s Journey: www.facebook.com/leonsjourney

With this in mind, the Thompson family will be honouring our superstar fundraiser Alfie by running, walking and cycling the same distance as his 100 MILES FOR LEON walk, but over the course of 2 months! Alfie (11 years old at the time!) walked from Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool to Wolverhampton over the course of a week in April 2018 and raised over £6,000!

If you wish to support us then please do join in by finding a sponsor for your own run, ride or walk for Leon - send us a pic and donate to our page.

Our amazing friend Nia Thomson is joining us by doing her own trial and you can support her here:

Running over September and October officially but there's nothing to stop anyone else joining us these next two months OR by taking part and completing a sponsored run, hike, jog or cycle whenever you like!

Simply go to https://www.treeofhope.org.uk/leonsfirststeps/ and click on ‘Fundraise For This Child’ to set up your own event.
