My story:
In 1994 my youngest son Connor was born and became very jaundiced after birth. At the age of 6 weeks he underwent tests at Whipps Cross Hospital and was diagnosed with a life threatening liver condition. He was transferred to Kings College Hospital in London where we were told he had biliary atresia and needed a kasai operation to save his life. Thankfully the operation was a success and after 10 days Connor was allowed home. We were put in touch with the children’s liver disease foundation. It was very frightening looking after a very sick baby, constantly looking for signs of something going wrong and administering many medicines. Luckily Connor began to thrive and grow without too many complications. He went through school and onto University, achieving a degree in mathematics and a masters in quantity surveying making us very proud parents. He is now 26 years old, remaining well and a daddy to our beautiful little granddaughter.
The Children’s Liver Disease Foundation supported us all the way, we cannot thank them enough for all their help, guidance, reassurance and just as important the research they continue to do into childhood liver disease.
Thank you for reading and supporting this charity,
Thank you to Maureen and all the lovely staff at Trinity Hall Kindergarten for their continued support with fundraising.
