Story
As Heads of School at Trinity School, we really wanted to create a charity event to help raise money for Cancer Research, in order to help find a cure for cancer. We initially considered gathering a team of trinity pupils to take part in the official Race for Life event in July, however we began to find some difficulties with this. The Race for Life event situated in Exeter is a 'females only' event, which meant that boys were unable to participate. We spoke to a number of boys and girls within our community who said they would like to participate, so we decided to create our own event here at Trinity School. We would like to invite both Trinity pupils and parents to come participate in the event on Monday the 3rd of July 2017. Members of the community can run or walk 5K (it is entirely up to you). For the prep children, they will be completing a distance of 2.5 kilometres.
In order to help raise money, we will also be having a mufty day on the 3rd of July. Pupils will be asked to wear pink and purple (if possible). Student can also dress up in fancy dress.
With an estimated 2.5 million people suffering from cancer in the UK (with numbers expecting to rise to 4 million by 2030), we want to raise money to help fund the extensive research into trying to find a cure for cancer. Unfortunately due to the large number of cases in the UK, members of our community have been affected by cancer directly, and therefore in running the race for life at Trinity School, we would also like to support those affected.
All donations will be greatly appreciated. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
