I'll be running the 10 miles of the Great South Run in order to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. This is my standard charity that I have chosen because of my father's experiences: He was diagnosed with angina which required expert surgical care and support when he underwent a bypass operation as part of the treatment. Thankfully, it all went well.
Coronary heart disease is the UK's biggest single killer.
Aside from raising money for such a worthy cause, I'm happy to be able to take part, following a long road to recovery from an achilles injury at the beginning of this year. Running this event in 2012 was a real highlight for me so it is good to be back at it.
