Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m running the Cardiff half marathon (my first!) in honour of a pretty amazing little person called Tilly. She is 3 years old and as well as being the daughter of two of my favourite people, she is an incredibly resilient and inspiring little girl. Tilly suffers from a unspecified multisystem inflammatory disease that affects her skin, brain, liver and muscle development. In layman's terms, that means while it effects Tilly's whole body the Drs don't know what's causing it. Not only does this make it hard to treat, it also leaves Tilly and her parents in the dark; never knowing when or in what form the next flare up will appear.
This is where SWAN provide such valuable support. They bring together families like Tilly's, enabling them to ask questions about tests, share their experiences, and generally find a sympathetic, supportive community to help them meet the challenges posed by an undiagnosed genetic condition. On top of this, SWAN provide a specialist nurse out of Great Ormond street which I know has been invaluable to Tillys parents. Put simply SWAN offer fantastic support to families gowing through an unimagineably challenging time and any donation you can offer will make a huge difference. it'll also help me through those last few miles 😀
