LONDON TO PARIS CYCLE – TOUR DE FRANCE FINALE 2019 · 24 July 2019

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

At the start of 2018 I decided to try and get myself fit and got into cycling.  Started off finding it difficult riding 2 or 3 miles, but kept pushing myself and have now cycled over 3000 miles in 8 months & lost about 5 stone!

I decided to enter this ride to push myself even further.

"We will spend 4 days in the saddle, cycling 308 miles from capital to capital. The journey begins in London with the route taking us through glorious English countryside as we cycle from Kent to Dover, before crossing the Channel to Calais. Once across the water, we start cycling ‘French style’, remembering to keep to the right!  We cycle along quiet French country lanes, through traditional market towns with views of the rolling green hills of Northern France, passing the war memorials and cemeteries of the Somme."

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
