Story
On September 13th 2018 my lovely brother Paul Golding lost his fight with cancer.
Paul was only 55, was full of life and had lots of plans for the future including looking forward to his son’s 21st Birthday.
He was hard working and would give you his last penny if he thought you needed it more than himself.
He spoke fluent Spanish after living in Mexico for 2 years, this is where he got his love of spicy hot food.
He loved Motown and Soul music and his favourite song was Car Wash by Rose Royce.
He loved cooking which is just as well as he spent the 80’s and 90’s as a chef or bar tender in various places including Brighton. This is where he also got his love of House Music and he became a DJ.
I am so thankful that I have spent most of my Adult life working with him in various places and the latest place was for John Lewis at Trumpington Cambridge.
He had been a customer delivery driver for the last 8 years and he thoroughly loved his job, especially the banter he had with his fellow co workers. So much so that the night he was rushed into hospital for emergency surgery he said to me “ if they can get my pain under control, I can go in to work tomorrow”.
Little did we know then of the severity of his condition.
I am thankful to John Lewis for the support they showed him and also to myself when he died.
Just less than 6 weeks after we lost Paul we lost our mum. To say that we are devastated is an understatement.
As a family that has had made use of the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich we would like to raise some much needed funds for them.
So on Monday June 10th 2019 I shall be “Braving the Shave” with Penny Young and Amrit Bamrah who have offered to do this it alongside me.
Penny will be donating her hair to make wigs for cancer patients.
Our target is £5000.00 so we would really appreciate anything that you can donate.
Don't forget if you're a tax payer to select gift aid.....
