Story
It's a year since we lost our friend Siôn after his battle with mental health. A talented sportsman, astute economist and banker, and all round wonderful person, Siôn made sure that he would maximise any opportunities that came his way. He dreamed big and lived those dreams.
Since June last year, Siôns partner, family and friends have worked hard to set up a charity that would ensure that his energy and love would live on - the Siôn Mullane Foundation. Today we are proud that the charity goes live (link to website in bio). The mission is to work with schools and organisations in Wales to provide support for initiatives that promote the education & social mobility of young people.
Siôn was know for his ambition in all walks of life, including his fundraising challenges. In 2015 he ran an Ultramarathon to raise money. When questioned on his choice of event and woeful lack of training, the response was classic Siôn Mullane "why not?!". This summer, six of his friends are cycling 220miles from North-to-South Wales to raise awareness and funds for SMF, a challenge Siôn would love.
Despite our enthusiasm for the challenge, none of us are even remotely prepared for what is ahead of us. We are a rogue crew of non cyclists with no gear and literally no idea, aiming to cycle 220 miles in less than 72 hours. When we were debating whether we should take on such a challenge despite our limitations, the one question that kept popping up was "why not?".
If you would like to sponsor or donate that would be greatly appreciated.
