At 16.33 on Sunday 25th August, 2019 #TeamTQ will be starting the Race Around Ireland. 

This is a multi-day endurance cycling event, the route covers in excess of 1,300 miles around the coastline of North & Southern Ireland and has to be completed in 132 hours (5 1/2 days)

I will be riding as a solo racer and am looking to ride for 20 hours in every 24 hour period to try and complete the route before the cut off time. During the race I am being supported by a crew of 8 who have all given up their time for free.

The crew has been handpicked as they all have the skill sets required to complete an endurance cycling event. The most notable skills being: navigational, motivational, mechanical, ability to work as a team under pressure but probably the most important.....having the ability to do all of the above and keep smiling throughout!

TeamTQ will also be racing at the World 24hr tt Championships again in November.

Just as a reminder of why and the real reason for doing this is that my stepfather, Allan Miles, died from Pancreatic Cancer in November 2014 and this form of cancer has the lowest survival rate of any cancer. I am raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK as their work does make a much needed difference by providing support and information to those affected and also in raising awareness and funding research. Having seen the affect of this disease at close hand I fully support their lobbying in trying to get higher priority for pancreatic cancer so anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
