Turner Syndrome Three Peak Challenge · 25 May 2013
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. On May 25th 2013, our team, consisting of Jessica Otter, Simon Otter, Matt Spencer, Jon Belfield, Chris Auton, Mark Browett, Dave Watkinson and David Blackburn, will be taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge. In a nutshell, we will be climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in Cumbria and Snowdon in Wales, all within 24 hours. Overall we will climb 26 miles and travel 476 miles by bus, thanks to our driver Keith Hemsley.
The reason for this is to support a small charity called Turner Syndrome Support Society. Whilst expecting in 2011, our (Jessica and Simon) daughter, Emie, was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome. This is a chromosome abnormality affecting only 1 in every 2000 live female births. At the time, we did not know much about this and we thank the TSSS for making a difficult time that little bit easier. We would like to raise awareness of Turner Syndrome as well as making as much money as possible for this charity to allow them to carry on the fantastic work they that they do!
