During April and May of 2018 I walked solo 615 miles from Dover to Edinburgh raising over £3,500 for Fibromylagia Action UK. I was originally hoping to continue to Cape Wrath (the far north western tip of the Scottish mainland) but due to a left foot injury I had to call a halt after 34 days of walking on average about 18 miles a day.
In addition to money, TrussyTrek 2018 raised Fibromyalgia awareness as I chatted with people about the condition in cafes, pubs, shops, chance encounters on street or path, in and out of towns, and with my hosts along the way...
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES IN 2019! All being well I will be returning to Edinburgh next spring to continue the walk and complete the 900 mile journey on foot from Dover to the top of Scotland at Cape Wrath. You see this journey is more than 'Magnetic North' on the compass - it just won't let me go - I can feel the pull of the far north of our beautiful island as I type these words!!
So join me in 2019 - follow my journey, and let's see if we can hit that goal of £10,000 for Fibromyalgia Action UK!
