Story
A few months ago the Widnes Wild women’s team raffled a signed hockey stick and I somehow agreed to shave my head in aid of raising more money towards their Team travel expenses for away games.
Fortunately I’m sticking to my word as much as I will probably regret the agreement shortly after my hair is chopped from my head I am going to see it through and look like a peanut for a few weeks, but in addition my hair is now long enough to be donated to the Little Princess Trust where it can be used to help people up to the age of 24 who has sadly lost their hair by providing them with a free wig.
The Little Princess Trust is a children and young peoples charity and their mission is to supply real hair wigs, free of charge, to children across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatments and other illnesses. As a result of treatment for cancer, most children will suffer hair loss as a side effect. Some cope remarkably well but for others this can be very upsetting.
In addition they assist children with other conditions which also result in hair loss, the most common condition being alopecia.
So hopefully if you have taken the time to read into this you would like to donate but anything as small as a share on Facebook will make me feel extremely proud, please feel free to dig deep but honnestly any donation will help this wonderful charity. If we reach the goal set I will be going totally bald.
The big shave will be at The Widnes Wild presentation night on 21st April.
Thank you very much
