Story

'We put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games.'

https://www.specialeffect.org.uk/

We are four middle-aged men dressed as the Pet Shop Boys driving a £500 Mercedes C Class Estate (it's clunky) in order to participate in a 1000 mile car based challenge called TwinTown2020 (now TwinTown2022) in aid of SpecialEffect.

'Bringing children with immunodeficiency in long-term isolation back together with schools and friends'

The event and cars bring a massive amount of awareness to this extraordinary charity. Each of us has been touched by the stories of people who SpecialEffect has helped and continue to help. We each have our own reasons for participating and the YouTube clip below is just one of many examples of why we are doing this:

Please get behind us and we promise to keep you up to date with our fundraising efforts and the journey we have started.

The fourth and final Twin Town Challenge is GO! Having been postponed twice due to COVID-19 it is now 29th April to 2nd May 2022. 100+ cars costing less than £500 each will leave Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire and head to Le Touquet in France for 4 days of fun and frolics! These intrepid travelers will be raising awareness and funds in support of Special Effect, as the charity seeks to enable more people with disabilities to experience fun and freedom through cutting-edge technology. Join us for the biggest and the best TTC EVER!
