Turknstein knows what it’s like to be dumped on the street but at least for him, his life turned around very quickly. Some are less fortunate and are forced to spend Chrsitmas alone and loveless on the streets of London. Every year for nearly the last forty years Crisis have been working to provide some comfort, warmth and security to these people.

£5 could buy a hat or a pair of gloves to help keep 5 homeless people warm in the winter £10 could pay for one medical kit for use at the Open Christmas medical centre £25 could enable a homeless person to learn new skills at the Open Christmas Learning Zone £50 could help keep 10 homeless people healthy by covering the cost of their prescriptions at the Open Christmas medical centre £200 could pay for the furnishing of a library area at one of our centres at the Crisis Open Christmas, enabling our guests to have access to a wide range of learning resources £1,000 could cover the full running costs of the advice centre at the Open Christmas for four days £2,000 could pay for the training of 250 key volunteers £3,000 could pay for prescription glasses for all our guests £5,000 could cover the full running costs of an advice centre throughout Crisis Open Christmas £10,000 could pay for the running of the Women’s Centre for the 8 days of Crisis Open Christmas, opening doors to approx. 60 guests. £20,000 could help to pay for the Learning and Skills areas across all 8 centres, providing guests with access to training courses including literacy and numeracy, IT, financial management plus a range of other learning opportunities. £50,000 could pay for 200 homeless people to use the centres for 7 days over Christmas. £200,000 could pay for the running costs of 4 Crisis Open Christmas Centres for 8 days, providing shelter, food, companionship and basic services for 1200 homeless people.
