Turtle Tots Sky Dive Devon · 30 June 2019
Wherever we are in the UK Turtle Tots gives something back to our local communities, that's why each Turtle Tots licensee partners with a local child-related charity and donates at least 1% of revenue to them. Over the last seven years we have raised well over £300,000 for good causes!
On June 30th 2019 we are absolutely thrilled that five brave (terrified) Turtle Tots head office staff are hanging up their swim gear, and detaching themselves from their laptops and emails, to recklessly jump out of a plane and sky dive 15,000 ft.
Of course this is for a fantastic cause…..Plymouth’s NICU parental accommodation campaign “Keep Me Close”.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth cares for babies born from around the South West who have either been born prematurely or with other life threatening illnesses. As the NICU has the highest level of expertise and equipment, the ward cares for babies from all over the South West, which are often transferred from other hospitals for a higher level of care when needed.
Due to the nature of the babies cared for on the unit, parents are encouraged to remain close by. To enable more parents to have this opportunity the hospital has set up the ‘Keep Me Close’ campaign, which aims to redevelop a new area of the hospital to provide the parents of the babies with that all important home from home, giving the families space and privacy that these times require.
Keep Me Close is a fundraising appeal under the umbrella of Plymouth Hospitals Charity (reg no. 1048679). Funds that are raised for Keep me Close are used to support the provision and development of parental accommodation for those parents of babies who are being cared for on the Neonatal Intensive care Unit.”
