A Tuscan Charity Bike Ride - Sept 2023

A Tuscan Charity Bike Ride - Sept 2022 · 14 September 2022
As if our French cycling challenges in 2016 and 2018 weren't punishing enough, we are back with a bang in 2023! From September 20th - 23rd 2023 we will be pedaling 400 kilometres through Tuscany, Italy and will be raising funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Team members: Adam Wilson, Jon Passey, Oliver Wilson, Lee Riley and John Watts. Support Crew: Lynda Wilson and Phil Wilson (aka Mustard Slack Man).
Our four-day 400km adventure will commence from the stunning city of Florence, and we will take in some classic Tuscan stretches, heading southbound towards the cycling mecca of Montepulciano. We will then pedal through the World Heritage Site of the Val d’Orcia then, circling back north, we will pass through the ‘Crete Senesi’, past Siena and through the rolling hills, vineyards, and golden wheat fields of central Tuscany. We complete our epic journey by following a section of the 'Via Francigena' ancient pilgrimage route until we reach our final destination of the famous medieval walled city of Lucca, with aching legs but a warm sense of achievement!
We are raising funds for the British Heart Foundation, who have helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease, but sadly every day hundreds of people still lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like you that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.
We'd love your help to raise money for the British Heart Foundation so that they can continue to do such amazing work. Every donation will make a huge difference to the charity and will encourage us to keep on pedaling along the Tuscan roads when the going gets tough!
Through JustGiving you can sponsor us, and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the charity.
