The creation of the Tarras Valley Nature Reserve has been one of the most ambitious community projects of a generation. The 5,200 acre reserve aims to help tackle climate change, restore natural diversity and support community regeneration.
Join our raffle to win a unique handcrafted prize from award winners - furniture maker Daniel Lacey and ceramicists Miles-Moore Ceramics.
Raffle is being drawn at the end of July – so don’t miss out!
5 ticket numbers for £10 or 20 for £25. All proceeds to the Reserve. Don’t forget to tick the “I’m happy to be contacted” button – or you can’t be included.
A collaborative project by close friends Siobhan and Martin (of Miles-Moore Ceramics) and Daniel of (Daniel Lacey Design & Furniture) and of course the Tarras Valley Nature Reserve – the prizes have been created using timber from the Reserve that fell during Storm Arwen. Daniel making a bowl and platter from birch, and Martin a complementary platter and bowl, using wood ash from the birch incorporated both into the glaze and the clay, with handles coated in real 24ct gold leaf by Siobhan.
Wildlife thrives best in a large, interconnected mosaic of habitats, with more space providing increased ecotourism and employment opportunities; so The Langholm Initiative is currently fundraising
to raise £2.2m, to purchase a further 5,200 acres, doubling the size and impact of the project.
Once your donation has gone through, remember to tick the box alongside “I'm happy to be contacted by” joyce@tarrasvalleynaturereserve.co.uk . JustGiving can then safely share your contact details with us and we can send your ticket numbers.
Thank you. - from me, from our local community, from Scotland!
