100 Mile Beacons Way!! - 4 Days! 4 Marathons! - 28000 Feet of Elevation!!

100 Mile Beacons Way - 4 Days - 28000 feet · 14 April 2020
*I was due to undertake this challenge for my 38th Birthday in 2020! However with the rise of Covid, lockdowns, the training required and the assistance of Mountain Rescue I have put it off in order not to put strain upon any services or travel restrictions. However now it's the Time!!! For my 40th birthday and 2 years later (and older) but we're BACK ON!!
25th April 2022
The 100 Mile Beacons Way is quite simply, one of the UK's hardest and most challenging routes, with a little over 28000 feet of elevation (Mount Everest is 29000 feet!!) taking in some of the cruelest mountain ranges and terrain in the country and the most unpredictable weather the route normally takes professionally guided walkers 8 - 10 days to complete.
With the (hopefully not) emergency assistance and tracking of the amazing Brecon Mountain Rescue and with 100's of hours of training (already started) I intend to complete the route in under 4 days, averaging just under a WHOLE MARATHON a day up and down the hills!
Anyone who know's these mountains and region knows they can be a real tough bitch! So in my supreme wisdom and over the coarse of my 40th Birthday I intend to scale over steep Mountains and valley's, unsupported and alone I will be carrying all the kit and supplies I need - sleeping, eating and suffering greatly on the march all in support of awareness and essential funds needed to help save our world's extremely invaluable oceans .
We all know and have seen the images of the desperate situation our Ocean's and sea life are in - TIME IS RUNNING OUT - PLEASE SUPPORT IN ANY WAY YOU CAN!! Every penny helps. Just One Ocean are a top charity.
The mission is to raise the global awareness of the issues facing our marine and coastal environments in order to protect and conserve them for future generations. Just One Ocean has developed a number of projects to achieve this mission. We are currently undertaking and supporting scientific research in several disciplines, advising on community based programmes, supporting businesses and arts projects. The work we do is diverse, but so are the problems facing the ocean.
